Presentation Matters

Presentation Matters is site with a couple seemingly disparate goals: to provide pragmatic analysis and information about all matters related to presentation, a term that broadly refers to PowerPoint more often than not, and the tools and related technologies that serves the same needs. People use ‘presentations’ in many contexts: business, education, even personal. As a design professional providing services for over a decade, any time I go looking for a quick aid on a technical question, Google confounds me. I wanted to create a repository that hopefully provides a bulwark against the pages of gamed search results.

I also wanted to add my voice to the broad discussion of design as it pertains to presentations and the myriad other forms of expression (again, on the spectrum from high art to personal to professional). People strive to present their ‘best face’ but many shy from detailed discussions of design believing it to be beyond their grasp either because of cost or a lack of skill. Rather than create a destination for ‘designers’ or ‘amateurs’ we have to hope that everyone can benefit from a broad-based discussion on the value of effective communication using visual tools. This site hopes to provide that.
